Oct 15, 2026 | 5:12 PM

Loon Lake RCMP seized approximately 280 grams of methamphetamine and 18 grams of cocaine following a traffic stop that led to trafficking and weapons charges against two men.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 699 in Loon Lake around 2 p.m. Tuesday and determined a woman inside was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the detachment.

Police arrested her, then searched the vehicle and found the drugs.

The three remaining occupants, two men and another woman, were arrested at the scene. During the arrests, officers seized brass knuckles, ammunition and cash from one of the men, police say.

Now, a 34-year-old from Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one involving methamphetamine and the other cocaine. He also faces one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The other accused, a 28-year-old who is also from Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.

The second woman was charged with breaching court-ordered conditions. The woman arrested on the warrant was not charged in connection with this investigation.
