Two men are dead after drowning in two northern Saskatchewan lakes this week.

On July 31, a 28-year-old man died after drowning in Father’s Lake, about five kilometres north of Pelican Narrows.

Officers were called to a report of a missing man who was swimming in front of the rocks and beach area of the lake.

An RCMP boat from Pelican Narrows was dispatched to the scene.

The man was located a short time later. Paramedics and officers performed CPR but were unable to revive the man. His death is not considered suspicious.

On Aug. 1, a 67-year-old man was located dead in a small creek near Cowan Campground at Cowan Lake.

Officers from Green Lake responded and an initial investigation revealed the man had fallen down a dirt embankment and into an area of the creek where the water is eight to ten feet deep.

His death is not considered suspicious.
